Genetic Study

GWAS Launching Q2 2025

  • A Genome Wide Association Study (GWAS) is a research approach used to identify genomic variants that are statistically associated with a risk for a disease or a particular trait. (National Human Genome Research Institute)
  • Involves two groups of participants: People with the disease and people without the disease
  • DNA sample from a blood draw is taken from each participant
  • Results help researchers to develop better strategies for prevention, screening, diagnosis and treatment
